Nevados’ All-Terrain solar tracker eliminates grading, reduces steel in pilings by 23% at 170 MW project

Nevados’ All-Terrain Tracker™ is transforming solar development in the Mid-Atlantic, eliminating the need for extensive land grading on a new 170 MW project. By avoiding the movement of 400,000+ cubic yards of soil and reducing steel usage by 43 miles, this innovative system lowers costs and preserves the natural landscape. MYR Energy Services praised the tracker for its simplicity and environmental benefits, marking it as a game-changer for utility-scale solar.

Solar Tracker Challenges on Non-Flat Terrain

Installing solar trackers on uneven terrain presents significant engineering and cost challenges, often increasing expenses by 10-20% due to variable foundation heights. Innovative solutions like Nevados’ All Terrain Tracker™ are transforming the industry by adapting to natural landscapes, eliminating land grading, and reducing construction costs. As solar deployment expands, these advancements are making projects on challenging terrain more efficient and sustainable.

All-terrain tracking systems: optimizing the production value of variable terrain

Traditional solar trackers struggle on uneven terrain, often requiring costly land grading that disrupts the environment. All-terrain tracking systems offer a game-changing solution by adapting to natural landscapes, reducing costs, and maximizing energy production. As the solar industry expands, these innovative trackers are unlocking new opportunities for deployment on challenging sites.

Solar Mounting and Tracking Companies Need to Keep Reinventing Themselves

As solar mounting and tracking systems become increasingly commoditized, companies must differentiate through value-added services like project management, design consulting, and supply chain optimization. By shifting from a product-focused approach to a service-oriented model, these companies can enhance competitiveness and build stronger client relationships. The industry’s future depends on innovation, vertical integration, and diversification to stay ahead in an evolving market.
