In the ever-evolving landscape of renewable energy, innovation is key to staying ahead. At Nevados, we’ve spent the last decade pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in solar tracking technology. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce our latest breakthrough: the TRACE™ All Terrain Tracker®.

A Decade of Excellence

For ten years, Nevados has been at the forefront of the solar tracker industry, consistently delivering solutions that challenge the status quo. We’ve saved our customers millions of cubic yards of grading across more than 1.3 GW of deployed projects, translating to significant LCOE reductions for developers. But we didn’t stop there. We listened, we learned, and we innovated.

TRACE: Born from Experience and Feedback

TRACE is the result of our extensive experience and, most importantly, valuable feedback from our customers. We’ve taken input from hundreds of megawatts of real-life installations and nearly 5 million hours of accelerated life testing to create the most advanced tracker for challenging terrain.

What’s New?

  1. Simplified Hardware: We’ve revised and streamlined our components, reducing the part count by more than a third.
  2. Enhanced Controls: We’ve significantly expanded our control capabilities to maximize production and system protection.
  3. Unmatched Terrain Capabilities: TRACE offers industry-leading slope handling and terrain undulation capabilities at every post.
  4. Faster Installation: Our latest design is even quicker to install than previous models, setting a new industry standard.
  5. Rapid Wind Stow: TRACE can enter wind stow up to 50% faster than the industry standard, enhancing safety and reliability.

What Hasn’t Changed?

Our commitment to providing value without hidden costs remains steadfast. All features, including zero-shade backtracking, half-shade backtracking, diffuse boost, and hail stow, are included without any additional fees.

Constructability: A Core Focus

At Nevados, we understand the challenges faced by developers and EPCs. That’s why constructability has been a core focus in the design of TRACE. As highlighted in a recent study by solar construction consultants Eclipse-M, Nevados ranked first in installation time among all market-relevant trackers. TRACE builds on this success, offering:

  • Pre-assembled components for quicker setup
  • Auto-alignment capabilities to simplify installation on any terrain
  • Single-worker installation steps for key components

These features combine to make TRACE the most constructable tracker on the market, significantly reducing labor hours and project timelines.

Listening to Our Customers

Many of the updates in TRACE are direct responses to feedback from developers and EPCs. We’ve heard your inputs about installation efficiency, terrain adaptability, and system protection. TRACE addresses these with:

  • Bi-directional, automatic stow for faster wind protection
  • 75° hail stow to reduce project risk by up to 11X compared to 52°
  • Zero-shade and half-shade backtracking to optimize energy production on challenging terrain
  • A maintenance-free Kinematics ST Drive that eliminates greasing requirements

Looking to the Future

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re already looking ahead. The renewable energy landscape is constantly changing, and at Nevados, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of innovation. TRACE is not just a product; it’s a promise – a promise to continue listening, learning, and innovating to meet the evolving needs of the solar industry.

We invite you to experience the next evolution in solar tracking technology. Discover how TRACE can optimize your projects, reduce costs, and maximize energy production, even in the most challenging terrains.

If you are attending RE+ at the Anaheim Convention Center Sept 9-12, stop by the Nevados booth #D24057 and see TRACE in person.
